Noon gallery logo
Besides my language studies in Damascus I had the opportunity to work on some small local graphic design assignments. ¶ The logo for the Noon gallery was a redesign of an existing logo draft which didn't please the customer. It is based on the three Arabic letters 'Noon', 'Waw' and 'Noon'. Whereas the two horizontal strokes are derived from the 'Noon', the 'Waw' can be found as the negative element within the 'Noon' dot. ¶ Noon gallery specialises in collectibles and high quality handycrafts. The branch in the 'Quaimarieh' street in the old city of Damascus is located in a former barber shop and especially picturesque. Unfortunately I was not consulted regarding the final implementation of the shop sign which resulted in an unfavourable choice of typeface for the branch indicator "at the barber shop". ¶ In any case it was a very much appreciated opportunity to leave a little mark in the heart of this beautiful city.
